D.O.M. (Destruction Of Mankind) -
Necktie For A Noose!!!, Independent

This independent release is the brainchild of a person who calls himself
D.O.M. He recorded all the instruments on this album. Amongst his sources of inspiration
are Hatebreed, Sick Of It All and Biohazard. Musically Necktie For A Noose offers metallic
hardcore with lyrics criticizing the world, politics and people living a semiconscious
life, following the crowd. People wearing suits with ties are not the favorite kind of
people for this artist. These are the lyrics of an angry young man, spitting out his
words. The vocals are heavily distorted and hard to recognise, but the booklet has all the
song texts. Production wise this album is not bad, though it is not of high quality. The
biggest drawback, however, is the use of samples. A lot of them are used in between songs.
The final song is the worst example of what D.O.M. does. The track contains less than
three minutes of music, the rest is noise, voices, a church bell tolling, bombs falling
and exploding and a speech from a person who warns for the dangers of a world economy and
the American and European unions. These samples fill more than ten minutes, making the
track more than thirteen minutes long. Tiresome, and a poor way to fill an album. The best
song on Necktie For A Noose is probably Soul with some well dosed gang vocals. More of
this and less samples next time please. Listen to D.O.M. on myspace. |
