Gypsy Carns - The Watchman,
Trailer Trash Music
| This is an unusual CD for me to review. Gypsy Carns is an artist playing
a bluesy kind of biker rock. To be honest, I've never paid much attention to this musical
direction, so I'm far from an expert... What strikes me first are the explicit lyrics,
mainly dealing about biblical subjects. Musically Gypsy Carns offers well written songs,
filled with different sounds (using instruments like dobro and harmonica, besides guitar,
bass & drums). The production is very neat. The average length of the twelve songs is
three minutes. What makes this album nice, is the raw vocal style of Gypsy Carns. It took
me some time to get used to this kind of music, but find it enjoying for the most of it.
In fact, I've listened to this record quite a few dozen times. |
