Indigo - Reach Out, Feedback Records
Indigo is a new Swedish rock band. Reach Out is their debut album filled
with straight forward soft rock songs. The music is melodic, but hardly heavy. The guitar
playing varies from gentle strumming to somewhat heavier played chords. The guitar solos
are quite well done though (Feeling So Strong). A major role is here for keyboards. In all
the songs you can hear the piano sound, which emphasis the softness of this band. What
strikes me most with Indigo is their eighties approach. A lot of the songs could be from
eighties bands. Some of the ideas sound familiar, in fact. Think of Foreigner for instance
(Stay Forever). But there's also a touch of contemporary music. Indigo made a decent debut
album. It's not top notch material. But it's nonetheless enjoyable. These guys know how to
write a song. A lot of this stuff you can sing a long to easily. Therefore I'm sure this
band sounds better live than on CD. Fortunately for their Scandinavian fans, they perform
live regularly. |
