Opposition Of One - Screaming
Without Lungs, Guideline

| On their second full length album the German hardcore band Opposition Of
One is following a more melodic course. I got to know this band as an energetic, powerful
hardcore group. They still are. But they've succeeded in adding melodic elements. Two of
the songs on Screaming Without Lungs were on the previous titleless EP: You Try And Try
And Try But There's Still Emptiness Inside and Kill Your TV. Those two tracks represent
the old Opposition Of One as they are the most aggressive songs on the album. Good
examples of the new direction are the title track, My World May Fall and The Murderer
Isn't Me. Still, you can expect midtempo parts and lots of fast stuff, and clean,
screaming and gang vocals. The fast stuff may appeal to open minded thrash fans. Lyrically
the band also has something to offer, tackling subject like human hostility, living an
empty life and the bad influence of television. Productionally this is a great product
that hardcore fans should check out. It's passionate, emotional and powerful. |
