Remission - Let The Curtain Rise,

| Remission is a melodic pop rock band from Sweden. Let The Curtain Rise is
the follow-up to the band's debut Including You (2004). The music can be described as
smooth rock songs with choruses that are easy to sing along to. Keyboards were added in
the background. The album starts perhaps a little too mellow with Safe. In this song
acoustic strumming in the verses is varied with the heavier chorus. But the music sounds
pretty cool. Heavier is Nailed, a song written about Easter. The lyrics are, overall, of a
clear Christian kind, often like a praise song. Remission is able to write solid songs
with head and tail. The production is good. Though the music isn't very original - in
fact, I've heard more of these kind of band - and could be more innovative, the basis for
further growth is here. Good milestone on a ongoing musical journey. It's fun anyway. |
