Rob Rock - Garden Of Chaos, AFM Records
Take the line-up of Narnia, replace singer Christian Rivel with Rob Rock,
let Narnia guitarist Carl Johann Grimmark almost entirely produce an album and
you'll get what? A Narnia rip-off? Not at all. Garden Of Chaos is the fourth Rob Rock solo
album and the second that he worked on with the Swedish boys from Narnia. Compared to the
previous albums, Garden Of Chaos fits in very well with the rest of the Rob Rock
catalogue. It's not only his powerful vocals that makes the sound of any Rob Rock album.
There's a continuity music wise, with very attractive choruses, a great guitar sound, a
neat production and some of the best riffs you'll hear in modern heavy metal. I'm not
exaggerating. Garden Of Chaos kicks off with a forceful title track that sets the tone for
the album. A few of the tracks have power metal leanings, but the majority of the songs
can be described as melodic heavy metal with lots of great hooks and vocal melody lines.
Anyone into top notch heavy metal should at least listen to this CD, and who dug the
previous album can buy another masterpiece without hesitation. Listen
