Warlight - The Bloodchronicles, Whirlwind Records
| Never judge a book by its cover. The same may be applied to music CD's.
The Bloodchronicles looks dark and dangerous. The first track might even sound like an
intro to a black metal opus with its eerie sounds. But expect nothing of the sort from
Warlight. This is Norwegian punk 'n roll in the vein of Silver. This means a raw, powerful
and yet catchy combination of punk rock and rock 'n roll. This is a fairly nice album.
Though the music doesn't sound innovative or original, Warlight knows how to crank out
some fine tunes. The production is good and I like the raw vocal style displayed here.
Some keyboardish sounds were added for good measure. With fast, mid tempo and slow
passages, there's something for everyone. A promising start. |
